Christina McCauley

Hi, I’m Christina McCauley, APDT, AKC CGC Evaluator, UKC SPOT Evaluator, NACSW Judge, AKC Scent Judge, DMWYD Stunt Dog Judge,CTDI Instructor/Evaluator

I retired from law enforcement after 25 years of service with 20 years of that as an award winning K-9 handler, trainer, and administrator for one of the largest K-9 units on the east coast.  While serving in the K-9 unit, I handled and trained many different dogs with varying personalities and trained many types of disciplines.

As a trainer/administrator, I built one of the largest contingents of K-9 Drug Detection teams from donated and rescued dogs. Training them not only to detect illegal odors to a minimum standard of 90%, but I took them from ‘never been walked on a leash before, to obedience, exposure, and advanced agility proficiency.

My Story

In addition, I am one of the few Certified Search Managers in the State of Maryland and have served as a national instructor for the National Police Bloodhound Association, training dogs and their handlers all over the country.  I have organized and hosted several national seminars, held several positions within the association, and was awarded the prestigious ‘Life Saving Award’.  I have evaluated and certified countless police K-9 teams for law enforcement agencies across the State of Maryland.

I am a member of the United States Police Canine Association where I served as a host for tracking competitions, been a competitor, a steward for trial judges, and won several awards.  In addition, I have earned recognition as an expert in state and federal court systems in the fields of K-9 Man Trailing and K-9 Drug Detection.

In 2007 I decided to further my knowledge of animals by earning a Veterinary Assistant Certificate from the College of Southern Maryland along with earning numerous certificates for attending Tactical K-9 First Aid Courses.  Beyond learning more about animals, the training only heightened my sincere love and appreciation for pets.

Since retirement, I have served as Senior Law Enforcement K-9 Consultant at Strikepoint Consultants, where I have trained L.E. K-9 teams in the fields of Drug Detection and Human Scent Tracking as well as implement new K-9 units in law enforcement agencies around the State of Maryland. In 2011 I opened my own business, Bone-A-Fied Friends Forever Pet Services, to offer unique, personalized Dog Training for your furry family member and you.  Since opening BFF Pet Services, we have trained and coached the most award winning AKC Rally Obedience Competition Team in Southern Maryland, trained countless dogs in good manners, and provided a chance to have an ADVENTURE with your dog through our very unique Adventure Sport choices.
